Census Bureau: 73.8% of people in Chaves County were old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 65,014 citizens living in Chaves County in 2021, 73.8% were old enough to vote, equating to 47,971 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 23,786 were male, constituting 49.6%, and 24,185 were female, making up 50.4%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Chaves County during 2021 was lower than the state average, which stands at 77%.
